From the artist: "The materials I use are ivory, baleen, mastdon, shells, and any other natural resource that can be found outdoors. I grew up in a small fishing village, False Pass, Alaska, so a lot of my work has a nautical theme to it. I graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1987 with a BA in Fine Art but my work with ivory and baleen is self taught."
