Inupiat
Al was born in Nome, Alaska in 1951. He went to high school in Mt. Edgecumbe, Alaska, after high school he enrolled in the Navy from 1968 - 1971. He has been carving since he was a very young boy. Al specializes in tall ships and airplanes. He has an appreciation for carving with natural materials of walrus ivory, whalebone and baleen and also fosilized bone.
